Belted galloways

On a farm near Nebo, Kentucky, I sighted some cows that looked like they were wearing girdles. Others called them "oreo cows." I learned that the breed is called belted galloways, and they are from Scotland. To learn more about them, check out http://www.beltie.org/.

When I was the veterinary librarian at Ohio State, I would get questions (usual trivia) about "oreo cowkies" and what was the real name--Belted Galloway. An interesting breed.

Love your photos.
